LMAC ECO Systems

ECO Systems

2021 saw the launch of our ECO division. Climate change is already having visible effects; the world is warming rainfall patterns are changing and sea levels are rising. Unless we radically reduce our direct contribution to climate change and play our part in limiting global warming to within 1.5ºC, we will all experience dramatic changes to our lives. As a company we have developed a carbon reduction plan to reduce our carbon footprint and achieve net-zero which includes our supply chain activities. Nonetheless, we want to support our clients in their zero carbon endeavors.

Photovoltaic Panels (PV)

Solar panels provide a sustainable way of harvesting energy from the sun and converting it to electricity. With energy prices raising substantially, it makes sense to invest now and save money on your energy bills whilst reducing your carbon footprint. You can also generate an income via the Government Smart Export Guarantee (SEG).

Electric Vehicle Charging (EV)

Changing your vehicle to electric provides a cheaper and greener way to travel.  Our engineers are experienced electricians who have been specifically trained by the National Inspection Council for Electrical Installation Contracting (NICEIC) to install and maintain charging points. Grants are available from the Electric Vehicle Homecharge Scheme (EVHS) and the Workplace Charging Scheme (WCS).

Expelling smoke allows building occupiers to safely evacuate and makes it easier for the emergency services to gain access.

LED Lighting

LED lights are an easy way to contribute to sustainability. They have a long lifespan are energy efficient and do not produce heat or UV emissions. 70% of the energy produced by an LED bulb is converted into light and due to their low temperature, they are safer to operate. By replacing a single 60-watt light bulb with an LED version you will be reducing your CO2 emissions by approximately 160kg.

Insulation

Insulation can reduce your energy usage by 50%. Most houses in the UK have solid walls which means it is the biggest contributor to heat loss in your homes.

We are certified installers of Matilda’s Planet, which is an internal wall panel insulation system that is specifically tailored to fit each property. Once installed it provides a u-value of 0.28, typically saving you 30-40 % on your energy bills. It also comes with a 25-year guarantee.

Heat Pumps

Absorbing heat from air and converting it into useful heat energy and domestic hot water can significantly reduce your carbon footprint. There are two options, air source heat pumps, which draw air from the outside, or exhaust air heat pumps, which recirculates the air already in the home.

Heat pumps reduce the reliance on fossil fuels and do not emit harmful gases. They are also compatible with PV panels as their source of energy and compliment underfloor heating systems by running at a lower water delivery temperature.
