Fire Safety Systems

On such essential works, which affect the safety and well-being of building occupiers, LMAC Fire Safety Systems provide a comprehensive suite of services that comply with all current Building Regulations and the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005. Our technicians are accredited to the appropriate independent certification body for the type of installation required.

Fire Doors

There is a legal requirement for manufacturers of fire doors to demonstrate the ability of their products to resist the passage and spread of fire. However, if they are not properly installed, their fire resistance capabilities can be seriously compromised.

The BM TRADA Q-Mark Fire Door Installation scheme was designed to provide reassurance to specifiers, contractors and end users that the product they have chosen will be installed correctly and that it should perform as intended.

All our Supervisors are BM Trada accredited, not only for door installations but door maintenance, fire stopping and penetration seals. They will inspect and sign off all installation works carried out by our operatives, giving you peace of mind of a compliant service.

Our membership of the BM Trada Q Mark certification scheme means you are assured our work is continually assessed by a third-party independent body.

Ventilation Systems

Ventilation facilitates the natural flow of air from a building, meaning in the event of a fire smoke will be extracted. Automatic opening vents (AOV) assist with this on a larger scale. There are different types of AOV unit, louvre vents, windows or smoke shafts that open automatically in response to smoke being detected by an alarm.

Expelling smoke allows building occupiers to safely evacuate and makes it easier for the emergency services to gain access.

Fire Suppression Systems

Fire Suppression systems are methods that use a substance to extinguish a fire. They will have a component that detects a fire during its early stages through heat, smoke or other warning signals.

LMAC are experienced in the design, supply, installation and testing and commissioning of commercial fire sprinkler systems in accordance with BS EN 12845 and BS9251 and manufacturers recommendations for domestic installations.

Passive Fire Protection (PFP)

Passive fire protection is an integral component of the structural fire safety measures within a building and contains or slows the spread of fires. In addition to our Fire Door installation service we offer these solutions:

  • Insulation – we are trained ROCKWOOL installers
  • Fire barriers – we are trained in FIREFLY curtain wall installation
  • Fire Batting
  • Intumescent Painting and Coatings for walls, floors and ceilings
  • Fire Stopping – we are BM Trada certified

Emergency Lighting

We are aware that industry standards recommend the types and durations of emergency lighting systems relating to each category of premises, however, these are minimum safety standards.

We design emergency lighting systems to meet the particular uses of a building and its requirements. Our systems will operate automatically, even when the main power supply fails, giving the right level of illumination to allow the evacuation of the premises safely.

We work closely with our customers during installation to develop maintenance and training plans. We will test equipment and simulate power failures to ensure systems are working correctly. We will support facilities managers through regular maintenance and help plan evacuation drills of building occupiers. All our activities are designed to minimize danger and the risk of panic should an emergency evacuation be required.

Fire Detection & Alarm Systems

We supply a comprehensive range of fire detection and alarm services that are bespoke to the property safety requirements. We are AICO trained installers for Smoke, Heat and Carbon Monoxide alarms.
