Project Description

Peabody Housing Group own and manage over 66,000 homes across London and the South East. Following the Hackitt Report, part of their group strategy is to ‘take fire safety very seriously ‘ and a programme of fire safety remedial works was developed covering various high rise and low rise properties.

Initially, LMAC carried out surveys to identify any non-compliant areas in their housing stock which would allow the spread of fire. We presented our recommendations to rectify any breaches and began a 12 month contract to make residents homes safe. We have since been awarded a 4 year framework partnering with the Peabody trust. Works included the installation of FD30 fire doors by our UKAS accredited, BM Trada certified staff and we also applied Crown Timonox Class O coatings which were certified to BS476 Parts 6 & 7 on completion.

Challenges

During works we found a leak in one of the building dry risers. As these are imperative to the emergency services in high rise buildings, we immediately highlighted this to Peabody and worked collaboratively to repair the leak without affecting the programme.
